Specially designed for use in stainless steel pipe installations, LKC-2 non-return valves prevent the reverse flow of fluids. Widely used in various processes throughout the sanitary industry, these standard non-return valves are safe and highly reliable.
Food and beverage, Home and Personal care
Alfa Laval LKC-2 non-return valves are highly reliable check valves ensure single directional product flow through process lines. This provides protection for process equipment that can be affected by reverse flow and prevents pressure surges and/or system shutdown.
The standard range of Alfa Laval LKC-2 non-return valves are constructed of standard 304 or acid-resistant 316L stainless steel. Easy to install, the valves are designed to handle maximum product pressure up to 10 bar and temperatures ranging from -10°C to 140°C (EPDM). For added versatility, these check valves are available with either a semi-bright or polished finish, and a variety of welding ends for ISO or DIN connections.
Construction
The Alfa Laval LKC-2 non-return valve consists of an upper valve body, lower valve body, valve plug, seal ring, and guide disc. The valve body is assembled by means of a clamp and hygienically sealed with a special seal ring. A guide disc and four legs guide the spring-loaded valve plug with an O-ring seal. LKC-2 has welding ends for ISO or DIN connections. Working principle The spring acts on the valve plug, keeping the valve closed until the force from the pressure in the inlet exceeds the force of the spring. If a reverse flow should occur, the spring force and the pressure from the outlet will keep the valve closed. Options

Concept
Non-return valve LKC-2 is designed for use in stainless steel pipe
installations to prevent reverse flow.
Working principle
LKC-2 opens when the pressure below the valve plug exceeds the
pressure above the plug and the spring force.
The valve closes when pressure equalization has been achieved. A
higher counter pressure will press the valve plug against the seat.
Standard Design
The valve body is in two parts, assembled by means of a clamp ring
and hygienically sealed with a special seal ring. A guide disc and four
legs guide the spring loaded valve plug with an O-ring seal.
The valve is available with welding ends for tubes according to ISO
and DIN 11850.

High and consistent quality
LKC UltraPure valves are subject to rigorous quality control. Alfa Laval performs all incoming and outgoing quality control and inspections and closely monitors every aspect of the manufacturing process – from raw material sourcing to tolerance and surface finish inspection to packaging and labelling. Tolerances and all surface finishes, for instance, are inspected with calibrated equipment. This helps ensure the highest quality possible.
Completely documented
All equipment and components in the Tri-Clover UltraPure portfolio are supplied with Alfa Laval Q-doc, a comprehensive documentation package that provides full transparency of the entire supply chain, from raw material to final equipment delivery. This smoothes purchasing and installation procedures as well as facilitates qualification, validation and change control procedures. Based on GDP (Good Documentation Practice), Alfa Laval Q-doc covers every aspect of UltraPure equipment supply and provides customers with transparent and well-documented quality assurance of the sourced equipment.
The Q-doc package for LKC UltraPure comprises quality and manufacturing procedures, material certificates and full traceability. This attention to detail maximizes uptime and minimizes risk.
How it works
Application Tri-Clover® LKC UltraPure is a non-return valve preventing reverse flow in a system. The UltraPure execution is designed and documented to meet the demand in industries like BioPharm and Personal Care. Working principle The spring acts on the valve plug and keep the valve closed until the force from the pressure in the inlet exceeds the force of the spring. If a reverse flow should occur the spring force and the pressure from the outlet will keep the valve closed. Standard Design The valve body is made in two parts that are assembled with a clamp ring. A guide disc and four legs guide the spring loaded valve plug in the valve body.

[/one_half]WORKING PRINCIPLE
The LKC-2 opens when the pressure below the valve plug exceeds the combination of product and spring pressure above the plug. The valve closes when the combination of product and spring pressure above the valve plug exceeds the pressure below the plug.
STANDARD DESIGN
The valve body is in two parts, assembled by means of a sanitary clamp and sealed with a special seal ring. A guide disc and four legs guide the spring loaded valve plug with an o-ring seal. LKC-2 has welding ends or Tri-Clamp® connections.
When horizontal installation is necessary, choose the horizontal model to ensure proper drainability.

ABS offers the original sanitary Y-body check valve—Alfa Laval’s 45BYMP ball check valve. This valve provides backflow prevention for stainless steel process lines. Its simple, robust design delivers years of reliable service.
With a sanitary design and low pressure drop, the 45BYMP has been a trusted option for years. The valve meets 3-A sanitary standards and can be mounted either vertically or horizontally.
Related Industries:
Processed Foods, Dairy, Beverages, Brewery, Home & Personal Care, Chemical
The 45BYMP ball check valve operates at a wide range of pressures and flow rates. Because the sealing check ball moves completely out of the process flow when open, the valve offer low pressure reduction and handles viscous liquids or liquids containing solid particles easily. Alfa Laval’s 45BYMP is authorized to carry the 3-A symbol.
When liquid under normal pressure enters the inlet of the 45BYMP check valve, an elastomeric ball is pushed upward into the “Y” branch (lower pressure area) of the valve. When the liquid flow stops, the pressure within the valve equalizes, and the ball returns from the “Y” branch of the valve and rests itself against the smaller diameter of the valve near its inlet. Should a reverse flow situation occur, the opposing pressure of the fluid will seat the ball firmly against the inlet of the valve, preventing reverse flow. The valve operates in both a vertical or horizontal orientation.
The valve consists of a single-piece, stainless steel body with an elastomeric ball (see materials table for options). The “Y” branch of the valve maintains a Tri-Clamp® connection along with an associated Tri-Clamp, end-cap, and NBR gasket. The valve is polished internally and externally to meet or exceed 3-A sanitary standards.

Air blow check valves protect pipelines against corrosion by air-drying the line. Air-drying causes a protective oxide film to form, and this film is the key to placing a system in its most corrosion-resistant condition.
ABS offers the Tri-Clover® 62-174/326 air blow check valve from Alfa Laval. These valves are designed to evacuate lines of product or clean-in-place (CIP) solution, and they are also used for air agitation of product in tanks and other vessels to thoroughly mix and blend the product. The Tri-Clamp®connection makes this valve easy to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning, replacing filter media, or inspection.
Related Industries:
Processed Foods, Dairy, Beverages, Brewery, Home & Personal Care, Chemical
Alfa Laval’s Tri-Clover® 62-174/326 air blow check valves are designed to perform two main functions:
Filtered air enters the adapter (A) and exerts pressure on the valve plug assembly (B), causing it to move forward and unseat. The filtered air passes through the valve and around the valve plug assembly (B), entering the pipeline or tank.
When the air pressure entering the adapter (A) is shut off, the valve plug assembly is returned to its normally closed position by return spring, preventing any product or CIP solution back flow.
The air blow check valve can be used in any position: horizontal or vertical. The valve can be used for product agitation in tanks or other vessels by using a Tri-Clamp, gasket, and mounting ferrule. No other fittings are required.
To use the air blow check valve to evacuate the lines of product or CIP solution, it’s recommended to clamp it on the end of the “Y” branch of a ball check valve, rather than install it in the line.
