U/D Series Pusher Seal
The UC Series seals are balanced pusher seals with a massive single coil spring that give great performance in the most demanding applications such as refineries, pipelines and petrochemicals. UC seals fully comply with API 682, Type A standards.
The U/D Series Pusher Seal are based on the UC Series and include a pumping ring incorporated into the rotating seal face body, which creates a distinctive Plan 23 cooling chamber around the seal faces. U/D Series Pusher Seal excel in high-temperature boiler feed water and hot hydrocarbon applications.
U/D Series Pusher Seal Applications
Benefit
- Prolonged support durability in demanding applications is guaranteed by a sturdy, one-pusher seal that uses components with a thick cross-section.
- A large, low-spring-rate single coil spring can accommodate axial setting dimensions and reduces the likelihood of particulates clogging and hanging up the spring, resulting in increased reliability.
- The strong U-cup seal and spring support ensure sustained seal face contact.
- A silicon carbide revolving face on a graphite ring in UC and UCQ seals enables low-emissions performance. This maintains the seal’s face flat and prevents shrink fit deformities.
- The silicon carbide spinning face of the O-ring provides high pressure performance in UO, UOP, D and DP seals. This maintains the seal’s face flat and prevents shrink fit deformities.
- The combined pumping ring in D and DP seals forms a unique Plan 23 cooling chamber around the seal faces, saving money by eliminating the requirement for cold injection systems.
