WORKING PRINCIPLE

The Gamajet range of high impact tank cleaning devices combine pressure and flow to create high impact cleaning jets. Cleaning occurs at the point at which the concentrated stream impacts the surface. It is this impact and the tangential force that radiates from that point which blasts contaminants from the surface, scouring the tank interior. In conjunction with this impact, the device is engineered to rotate in a precise, repeatable, and reliable 360° pattern. This full-coverage, global indexing pattern ensures the entire tank interior is cleaned, every time.

STANDARD DESIGN

The choice of nozzle diameters can optimize jet impact length and flow rate at the desired pressure. As standard documentation, the Alfa Laval GJ A6 can be supplied with a “Declaration of Conformity” for material specifications.

Maintenanace

Although our tank cleaning machines are designed for durability, periodic maintenance keeps the world’s best tank cleaning machines performing at their peak.
For an extended shelf life of your tank cleaning machine, preventative maintenance every 250 – 500 hours is advised. If you take proper care, your machine(s) will far outlast your tanks.

APPLICATION

The Toftejorg TJ 20G rotary jet head provides 3D indexed impact cleaning over a defined time period. It is automatic and represents a guaranteed means of achieving quality assurance in tank cleaning. Used mainly in breweries, food, and dairy processes, the device is suitable for processing, storage, and transportation tanks and vessels between 15 and 150 m3. The award-winning design is particularly suitable for hygienic industries that follow European Hygienic Equipment Design Group (EHEDG) guidelines.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The flow of the cleaning fluid makes the nozzles perform a geared rotation around the vertical and horizontal axes. In the first cycle, the nozzles lay out a coarse pattern on the tank surface. The subsequent cycles gradually make the pattern more dense, until a full pattern is reached after eight cycles.

STANDARD DESIGN

The choice of nozzle diameters can optimise jet impact length and flow rate at the desired pressure. The Toftejorg TJ 20G is also available with PEEK impeller. A welding adaptor with sealing for 1 inch ISO, 1 inch ANSI, 1 1/2 inch ISO dairy pipe, or 1 1/2 inch SWG pipe is available as an accessory.

The sanitary construction of the Toftejorg TJ20G is designed with the aim to meet both European and American standards and regulations, such as EHEDG, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), and 3-A Sanitary Standards.

The TJ20G has been tested according to the EHEDG test procedure on cleanbility and inline steam sterilisability. As standard documentation, it can be supplied with a “Declaration of Conformity” for material specifications.

Note: There is a special distillery version available. See price lists.

TRAX SIMULATION TOOL

TRAX is a unique software that simulates how the Toftejorg TJ 20G performs in a specific tank or vessel. The simulation gives information on wetting intensity, pattern mesh width, and cleaning jet velocity. This information is used to determine the best location of the tank cleaning machine and the correct combination of flow, time, and pressure to implement. A TRAX demo containing different cleaning simulations covering a variety of applications can be used as reference and documentation for tank cleaning applications. A TRAX simulation is free and available upon request.

Alfa Laval GJ A2 Rotary Jet Head Tank Cleaning

The Alfa Laval GJ A2 Rotary Jet Head Tank Cleaning product line offers tank cleaning devices that deliver powerful, efficient, hygienic cleaning for companies within the food, beverage, and personal care industries. They are ideal for retrofit applications to replace resource-heavy static spray balls and costly manual cleaning. Features of the GJ A2 Rotary Jet Head Tank Cleaning include self-cleaning and self-draining capabilities and the ability to clean tanks through openings as small as a 5cm (2 inches).

Alfa Laval Gamajet A2 (GJ A2)

Focused on product development and engineering, the operations team at Alfa Laval is dedicated to evolving their product line and improving upon existing machines. The Alfa Laval GJ A2 was created as a solution for pharmaceutical cleaning needs, but works cohesively in any sanitary environment. Self-cleaning, self-flushing, and self-lubricating, the machine requires no oil or grease in the gear train and can withstand higher flow rates, resulting in higher impact cleaning. It is also resistant to deionized water—all while maintaining a longer shelf life than its prototype.

Capable of both permanent and portable installation, the GJ A2 Rotary Jet Head Tank Cleaning is ideal for effective cleaning of small tanks, up to ten inches in diameter, in a repeatable and reliable 360° pattern. Like other Gamajet tank cleaning machines, the GJ A2 is entirely fluid-driven with no external motors, therefore eliminating the need for power assistance.

Related Industries:

Processed Foods, Dairy, Beverages, Brewery, Home & Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Chemical

High-impact, low-resource cleaning

The high-impact jet stream from the rotary jet head is preprogrammed to cover the inside of the tank in a continually denser pattern. This achieves a powerful mechanical impact with a low volume of water, acid, or caustic. Most of the Alfa Laval GJA rotary jet heads are capable of operating at both high and low pressures.

Energy-efficient design

A faster tank cleaning cycle also cuts energy consumption. Cleaning fluid flows through the nozzles in an automated, geared rotation around the vertical and horizontal axes. In the first cycle, the nozzles lay out a coarse pattern on the tank surface, with subsequent cycles progressively densifying the pattern over the course of eight cycles.

Application

Designed to fit through a two-inch sanitary fitting, the Alfa Laval GJ A2 Rotary Jet Head Tank Cleaning is part of the world-renowned Gamajet range of high-impact tank cleaning devices. It is the perfect alternative to time-intensive spray balls and costly manual cleaning. Consisting of FDA-compliant materials, this device is flow-through in design, requiring no grease or oil in the gears. Compact and efficient, it allows for space-saving, while maintaining the impact, durability, and range required for optimal rotary impingement tank cleaning in sanitary environments.

Standard Design

The choice of nozzle diameters can optimize jet impact length and flow rate at the desired pressure. As standard documentation, the Alfa Laval GJ A2 can be supplied with a “Declaration of Conformity” for material specifications.
