Alfa Laval Vortex Snub Radial Eductor is a high-performance tank mixing educer designed specifically for corrosive liquids. It can handle a variety of fluid shearing requirements and has been optimized for demanding tank mixing tasks, such as when using irregularly shaped tanks.
The Alfa Laval Vortex Snub Radial Eductor has a uniquely designed 304 stainless steel body with a female NPT connection and a proprietary Lobestar Mixing Nozzle® insert. Typically, one or more installations on the recirculation line inside the tank are required.
The Alfa Laval Vortex Snub Radial Eductor is a high performance tank mixing eductor designed to operate in demanding tank mixing processes involving irregularly shaped tanks, fluid shearing requirements and corrosive chemicals. Blending, reactor tanks and chemical mixing are ideal applications for Vortex Snub Radial Eductors. Snub Radial Eductors are commonly used in industrial applications such as vegetable oil, biodiesel, and chemical manufacture.
When fluid is pushed into the Alfa Laval Vortex Snub Radial Eductor intake, pressure builds up at the nozzle. The fluid velocity at the nozzle rises through its four peripheral suction ports, causing a pressure drop and a forceful vacuum to suck surrounding fluid into the eductor body.
The nozzle dynamically shears converging fluid streams, causing them to discharge into the tank as a high-energy plume.
The Alfa Laval Vortex Snub Radial Eductor has a uniquely designed 304 stainless steel body with a female NPT connection and a proprietary Lobestar Mixing Nozzle® insert. There are three connection sizes available: 38 mm (1.5%), 51 mm (2%) and 76 mm (3%). Typically, one or more are mounted on a manifold inside a tank, the number and size of eductors required depend on the vessel size and desired agitation or turnover rate (TOR).
As fluid enters the Snub Radial Eductor, pressure builds up at the entrance. At the nozzle, the fluid velocity increases, resulting in a pressure decrease and a forceful vacuum that sucks surrounding fluid into the eductor body via four peripheral suction ports. The nozzle dynamically sheared the converging fluid streams, which were subsequently ejected into the tank as a high-energy plume. The Snub Radial Eductor can be utilized whenever there is a centrifugal pump capable of handling the motive fluid.
