In the course of the development of heat transfer installations and their liquids, the standard DIN 4754 has been compiled. This standard determines, among other things, safety requirements for the operation of pumps in hot oil circuits. Volute pumps in accordance with EN 733/DIN 24255 are also generally accepted for this specification.

ABS offers SIHI’s Heat Transfer pumps for Hot Water and Hot Oil:

for Hot Water:

  • in Bare Shaft Design
  • in Inline Design

for Hot Oil:

  • in Bare Shaft Design
  • in Compact Design
  • in Inline Design

SIHISuperNova ZTN

Horizontal, single-stage volute casing pumps with the dimensions and nominal ratings to EN 733 in back pull out design which permits the removal of the complete bearing unit toward the drive end without removing the pump casing from the pipe work. If a spacer coupling is installed it is also unnecessary to disconnect the motor.

Applications:

Volute pumps of the series ZTN have been specially developed for handling of mineral and synthetic heat transfer oils. The pumps may be used in installations with positive or negative suction pressure. Especially to be emphasised is the application in plants of the chemical industry (heating of agitators, reactors, drying plants, polymerisation plants, plants for conveying high-viscous products and producing plastic materials and synthetic fibres), the rubber and plastic industry (heating of calendars, melting pots, power presses for plastics, automatic injection moulding machines, production of PVC adhesive tape), the food industry (heating of baking and fish-frying ovens, distillation of fatty acids and glycerine, fat softening plants, production of potato chips and milk powder) and the paper industry and laundries (calendar rolls, production of corrugated cardboard, heating of washing machines, mangles and dryers).

Technical Data:

Flow rate: up to 1,000 m³/h

Head: up to 95 m

Speed: max. 3,600 rpm

Temperature: max. 350 °C

Casing pressure: up to 16 bar

Shaft seal: mechanical seal, radial lip seals

SIHISuperNova ZTK

Single-stage volute casing pumps in compact design. Nominal performances and flange connection sizes according to EN 733. There is no common shaft for motor and pump, the motors used are of the standard type listed. Owing to the process design, it is possible to withdraw the whole insert assembly without removing the casing of the pump from the piping system. The individual shafts of the unit connected by a plug-in coupling facilitate the dismantling or replacement of the motor without affecting the pump.

Applications:

When developing the unit construction type volute casing pumps of series ZTK, the main objective has been to turn out a number of floor space saving, easy-installation types especially adapted to the circulation of mineral and synthetic heat carriers in primary, secondary and tertiary circuits. Besides these units can advantageously be used as main circulating pumps in heat exchangers of compact design where they, owing to their constructional features, offer brand-new possibilities to the plant manufacturer for the layout of a system.

Technical Data:

Flow rate: up to 200 m³/h

Head: up to 60 m

Speed: max. 3,600 rpm

Temperature: max. 350 °C

Casing pressure: up to 16 bar

Shaft seal: mechanical seal

Material: nodular iron

Series ZTI

Single-stage pump units in compact design with nominal performances as per EN 733. Suction and discharge orifices are arranged in line with each other for direct installation in the pipe work. Electric motor and pump do not have a common shaft, standard motors as per list are applied. The back pull out construction permits the dismounting of the complete pull-out unit without removing the pump casing out of the pipe work. The separate pump shaft and motor shaft connected by a plug-in coupling make possible to dismount resp. replace the motor without touching the pump.

Applications:
