Roots Blowers

Lobular vacuum pumps are double-shaft rotary piston pumps, utilising the displacement principle. Suction volume flow: up to 14,000 m³/h Suction pressure: 10-3 to 100 mbar

Design

Lobular vacuum pumps are double-shaft rotary piston pumps, utilising the displacement principle. They are also known as Roots pumps. Their special features are:

  • Compact, robust design
  • Air cooled (water cooling in preparation)
  • Pumping direction vertical
  • Casing sealing by liquid sealant
  • High volumetric efficiency due to the novel piston shape and high precision machining
  • High admissible pressure differences

Roots Blower Application

Lobular vacuum pumps are used in the medium and lower, rough vacuum range. Due to their design they achieve a high suction capacity with small dimensions. They are, therefore, used in all cases where large gas and vapour flows are to be pumped at low pressure. In addition, they may be used, if large vessels are to be evacuated quickly and safely.
Due to their robust design, lobular vacuum pumps have been well proven under arduous and extreme conditions. Lobular pumps are usually used as final stage of a pumping set. The behavior and the suction capacity of the lobular pump are determined by the choice of the backing pump.
