The Alfa Laval potentiometric level transmitter is designed to fulfil the demands in Sanitary and pharmaceutical production. The main features are:

Standard range
The Alfa Laval potentiometric level transmitter works great for measure in small containers that are full of sticky, tough substances like ketchup, honey, and toothpaste. The built-in circuits make a 4-20 mA output signal and can automatically tell whether the mounting is on top or bottom. Installation can be done at any angle. You can use the Alfa Laval potentiometric level transmitter for both CIP and SIP methods because it can handle high temperatures.

Important
It is important to remember that nonlinear conductivity in the medium will change how accurate the measurements are. If it is put in a tank that doesn’t conduct electricity, like a plastic tank, a reference rod needs to be connected.

Working principle
In keeping with the idea of potentiometric measurement, the Alfa Laval potentiometric level emitter can be used in any material with a conductivity of at least 50 ?S/cm. From the rod with low resistance, a high frequency current runs through the medium and into the wall of the tank. It checks the voltage between the stick and the wall of the tank. This voltage output is linked to the tank’s full amount. Temperature or sticky media don’t change the reading.
Electrical data
The integrated electronics features as standard automatic top or bottom mounting recognition, and LED´s for local readout of level. Adjustment of measuring range is done via two push buttons and LED‘s in field housing.
