Alfa Laval Toftejorg TJ 20G

The award-winning patented design of Alfa Laval Toftejorg’s TJ 20G rotary jet head was developed to meet the highest standards of efficiency, reliability and hygiene within the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and biochemical industries. The TJ 20G provides a 360 degree high-impact cleaning pattern over a defined time period, automatically indexing to achieve the utmost in quality assurance in tank cleaning.

Besides, Toftejorg Rotary jet heads provide thorough cost-effective cleaning. To achieve the best possible cleaning results, the jet heads use an optimized high-impact jet pattern to provide the highest possible coverage. Cleaning patterns reach the inner tank surfaces to ensure the most effective clean-in-place (CIP) solution possible. The jet pressure, or force of impact, efficiently removes residue to provide the hygienic conditions required for batch production. Self-draining and self-cleaning, inside and out, all Toftejorg Rotary jet heads devices comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). The Alfa Laval Rotacheck system verifies every cleaning cycle to ensure compliance with today’s strict hygiene standards.

With crevice-free design, Toftejorg Rotary jet heads effectively clean tanks using less water, less energy, and less cleaning agents than static spray balls. This reduces consumption of high-purity water, electricity, and chemicals. Toftejorg Rotary jet heads are an economic and environmentally correct choice.

  1. Overlap ensures self-cleaning of the body
  2. The nozzle’s concave shape ensures self-cleaning of the nozzle itself
  3. Through two holes in the hub, jet streams ensure cleaning of the cone

Maintenanace

Although our tank cleaning machines are designed for durability, periodic maintenance keeps the world’s best tank cleaning machines performing at their peak.
For an extended shelf life of your tank cleaning machine, preventative maintenance every 250 – 500 hours is advised. If you take proper care, your machine(s) will far outlast your tanks.

APPLICATION

The Toftejorg TJ 20G rotary jet head provides 3D indexed impact cleaning over a defined time period. It is automatic and represents a guaranteed means of achieving quality assurance in tank cleaning. Used mainly in breweries, food, and dairy processes, the device is suitable for processing, storage, and transportation tanks and vessels between 15 and 150 m3. The award-winning design is particularly suitable for hygienic industries that follow European Hygienic Equipment Design Group (EHEDG) guidelines.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The flow of the cleaning fluid makes the nozzles perform a geared rotation around the vertical and horizontal axes. In the first cycle, the nozzles lay out a coarse pattern on the tank surface. The subsequent cycles gradually make the pattern more dense, until a full pattern is reached after eight cycles.

STANDARD DESIGN

The choice of nozzle diameters can optimise jet impact length and flow rate at the desired pressure. The Toftejorg TJ 20G is also available with PEEK impeller. A welding adaptor with sealing for 1 inch ISO, 1 inch ANSI, 1 1/2 inch ISO dairy pipe, or 1 1/2 inch SWG pipe is available as an accessory.

The sanitary construction of the Toftejorg TJ20G is designed with the aim to meet both European and American standards and regulations, such as EHEDG, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), and 3-A Sanitary Standards.

The TJ20G has been tested according to the EHEDG test procedure on cleanbility and inline steam sterilisability. As standard documentation, it can be supplied with a “Declaration of Conformity” for material specifications.

Note: There is a special distillery version available. See price lists.

TRAX SIMULATION TOOL

TRAX is a unique software that simulates how the Toftejorg TJ 20G performs in a specific tank or vessel. The simulation gives information on wetting intensity, pattern mesh width, and cleaning jet velocity. This information is used to determine the best location of the tank cleaning machine and the correct combination of flow, time, and pressure to implement. A TRAX demo containing different cleaning simulations covering a variety of applications can be used as reference and documentation for tank cleaning applications. A TRAX simulation is free and available upon request.
